A Few Days Before Christmas

Cole loved helping his daddy put up the Christmas lights, just like he loves to help his mommy put clothes in the washer and dryer.

When They Think We're Not Listening...

Yesterday morning while the girls were cleaning their room, I was taken aback at how happy and jolly they were even while doing their chores. But as I listened closer I heard them singing, "It's A Hard Knock Life" from "Annie". I guess they are happier being orphans.

Also, while they were watching TV that day, a young man came on the screen, all muscular and toned. To which Lorelei said under her breath, "I wanna marry a boy like that...."

Easter 2011

Easter weekend started out wonderful with beautiful weather, our great little family, and a visit from our awesome friends.

Lisa, Paul, Karlee and Hudson Price traveled up from Salt Lake to spend the holiday weekend with us. We went bowling, the guys had their movie night, the girls had their dinner night, and we ended it on Sunday with  an Easter dinner made by everyone.

Easter morning all the kids woke up to their Easter baskets from the Bunny.

Cole enjoyed his first Easter without candy but with some fun dinosaur toys.

Later that afternoon, our neighbors John and Sandy Embury, invited us over for an Easter egg hunt.

After all the eggs were found, the kids found puzzle pieces inside a few of them.

They put together this beautiful picture, "Little One" by Jay Bryant Ward. We were so thankful to have this sweet moment bring such a wonderful spirit into our hearts this Easter.

Cole had to take a bath in the afternoon after his sister Meredith put shampoo in his hair sans waters while he was sitting in his high chair. Didn't quite do the job she intended.



Palmer's Harvest Party

This week we went to the Palmer's Harvest Party with our neighbors Betty Jo and Ernie Allen and their grandson Trevor. We have all gotten to be very close friends and enjoy spending time together. The party was awesome with superheroes jumping out of an airplane before candy was thrown out of it to the children on the grass below, face painting, hayrides and hot dogs and hot chocolate.

Last Day of Summer

It was so hot the last day of summer we wanted to see if we could cook an egg on the asphalt.

Nothing happened. Such disappointment.

The Chisnall's Visit!

Auntie Shannon, Uncle Jason, Gwen, Heidi and Travis came to visit us right before we ended our summer.

One of the first things we did was go to the Boise fish hatchery, which ended up being a perfect nature walk for the kids. It was so hot that day, but luckily there was a lot of shade!

The next day we spent the afternoon at Eagle Island State Park where the kids made sand castles and swam in the Boise River.

Cole loved being out in the sunshine and relaxed the afternoon away...

The night before they left we went to Fanci Freeze to get some chocolate malts and ice cream cones.
