For a weeks Lorelei has been asking us for help to write little notes, asking what letter makes this sound or that. When she hands me the notes she usually needs to translate them so I know what they say. But this morning she handed me a note that I could read and understand for the first time without any help. I was so proud of her! I can tell she understands the concept of writing and is on her way to reading by herself.

Yesterday, Lorelei made another book and I was so excited that I could save it this way and show everyone. All the text is in her own words. And, by the way, no, Lorelei's mommy is NOT pregnant!
"The Baby in the Stomach"

Once, long, long ago, Lorelei wanted to feel the baby kicking in Mommy's belly.

Our family was wandering how to get the baby out. They were sad because they didn't know which way the hospital was.

The ambulance takes them to the hospital. A doctor named Kara said, "I will help you! Just get in the bed."

They saw the baby on the TV (ultrasound).

Mommy pushed...

And then Mommy had her baby!

Then all the kids grew up.

Label Crazy

About 2 weeks ago, Lorelei decided to label some things in the house. I thought they were so funny I kept them up ever since!
The first one is on our bed, meaning 'No Climbing Kids'
On our bedroom door, 'No Kids Allowed!' Note sad face.
The next ones are on her dresser... 'swimsuits', 'shoes', and 'underwear and socks'

I love her!
