Having no family in town, or even in the same state, forces you to be a little creative when it comes to holidays. It makes you closer as a family when you get to rely on each other for fun and excitement. Being new to Boise we haven't seen everything that the city has to offer, so on the days we have family time together, we try and find new places to explore. This 4th of July we went to the Idaho Botanicals Gardens. Even with it being SO HOT we had a great time walking around the grounds looking at the beautiful flowers and wildlife.
That night we had The Dowland Family 2009 Firework Spectacular which consisted of ten dollars worth of fireworks, a couple of lawn chairs and all the mosquitos in the town of Star on our little driveway.
